Tonya at Temple! 

NOLA NOLA- Tonya Foster's hometown. Next week she'll be sharing her red beans secrets with Laura Elrick. This week she'll be sharing her multi-media piece about New Orleans for the people of Philadelphia. If you haven't seen Tonya before, you won't want to miss her. Tonya Foster is the author of poetry, fiction, and essays that have been published in a variety of journals from Callaloo toThe Hat to Western Humanities Review. She is the author of A Swarm of Bees in High Court (Belladonna Press) and co-editor of Third Mind: Creative Writing Through Visual Art, published by Teachers & Writers Collaborative. She is currently completing a cross-genre piece on New Orleans, and MonkeyTalk, an inter-genre piece about race, paranoia, and surveillance. A recipient of fellowships from the Ford Foundation, the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation,and City University of New York, Tonya teaches at Cooper Unionand Bard College, and edits Futurepoems books, a New York City-based publishing collaborative.The event is free and open to the public.
