Somali Poets: A Nation of Bards

I am currently reading, re-reading, and enjoying many books I have acquired over the past few months including CA Conrad's new book Deviant Propulsion and Chris McCreary's new book. I hope to write something about each book in the next few days here. However, yesterday, a friend alerted me to a link discussing a number of Somali poets. After reading this essay on the Somali's I found myself thinking and dreaming about these nomadic poetry jams last night and wanted to share the link here with you today. I love the pace and clear and purposeful tone of the poems mentioned and quoted in this essay "A Nation of Bards," written by Lark Ellen Gould.
